What you can buy
Firmus sells access to its API on named monthly tiers, to a professional customer buying that access for their own use — Firmus does not sell to consumers. Prices below are excluding VAT, per month:
- Free — €0 per month, 1 000 API calls a month at 2 requests per second, 1 000 rows a month sent to resolve and enrich, 1 API key.
- Pro — €49 per month, unlimited company lookups at 15 requests per second, 25 000 rows a month sent to resolve and enrich, unlimited API keys.
- Scale — €249 per month, unlimited company lookups at 60 requests per second, 250 000 rows a month sent to resolve and enrich, unlimited API keys.
The free tier's allowance is counted in API requests, and every request counts — an autocomplete session spends several of them finding one company. On a paid tier nothing is counted for money at all. Rows sent to the resolve and enrich endpoints are counted on every tier, the two together and a row sent to both counted twice, against the monthly figure above: once it is spent, further batches are refused until the next calendar month (UTC) or a move to a higher tier — or, on Scale, the highest, a contract (contact us) — and nothing is billed for them. The free tier is permanent and takes no card to start; every clause below that says "tier" or "plan" includes it. The full grid, with every capability each tier includes, is on the pricing section of the home page, which is generated from the same numbers as this document.
What the fee covers
A paid tier is a flat monthly fee, collected in advance for the period it covers. Nothing is billed by use: no call is counted for money, there is no balance to top up, and no invoice depends on how much you called. What the fee buys is the rate published above — the requests per second the API will serve the account as a whole, counted in fixed one-second windows with no burst allowance — and that published rate is also what fair use means here: an account is expected to stay inside it rather than inside a volume. There are no credits, no credit multipliers and no per-endpoint pricing. Paying a year's subscription up front, rather than monthly, is billed at 20% off the monthly rate.
Using the data, and using the service
The records themselves are open data and this document does not touch them. France's Sirene register is published under Licence Ouverte 2.0, which permits reuse — commercial reuse and redistribution included — against one obligation, attribution. Firmus does not extend or restrict that licence, which is what the documentation says in the same words.
What a subscription does not grant is the work built on top of those records, or the access itself. The canonical model, the pairing of a legal entity with its establishments, the geocoding, the search index and its ranking, and the freshness that comes from applying the register's daily change feed are Firmus's own compilation: extracting or re-using a substantial part of it to publish or sell a competing company-data service is outside what these terms grant, on every tier. Neither is the access resold — a key serves the subscriber's own product and internal use, and is not shared with, sublicensed to or operated for a third party.
Storing and caching the records a customer's own product uses is expected, and is what the API is for. A copy of the compilation rather than the records a product serves is a different thing: bulk extraction is a separate data licence, negotiated and priced on its own, and it is available — write to us.
Segments — the lists of companies the API builds from explicit filters, and the files exported from them — are built from the Sirene register. They do not reflect an opposition to prospecting recorded only in the RNE, the national business register (diffusionCommerciale), which Firmus does not read yet; every segment answer and every export says so in its own notice. Companies whose entry is partially disclosed are counted in a segment and never listed in its sample or its export.
The key that is not for sale
No tier above is withheld: every one of them is reachable from the console without a sales call — the free one without a card, the paid ones through Checkout. One key is not for sale under any tier: the publishable key behind this site's own search box and the documentation's "try it" panels belongs to a house account, and is not named here.
Buying and paying
A free account takes no card. A paid tier is purchased through Stripe Checkout, from the console; changing payment details, downloading an invoice or cancelling go through the Stripe customer portal, not through Firmus directly. Firmus does not store a card number or a bank detail at any point in that flow.
Cancelling
A subscription can be cancelled at any time from the customer portal. It ends at the end of the period already paid for: access continues to that date and does not renew afterward, and the fee for a period that has begun is not refunded in part. The account then continues on the free tier rather than being deleted.
Availability
This document makes no uptime commitment, because none is checkable today: there is no published status history to hold either side to one, and a number invented for this page would be exactly the kind of claim the rest of this site refuses to make. If that changes, this section changes with it.
Liability
Firmus's liability under these terms is limited to the amount paid for the subscription in the twelve months before the event giving rise to it, except where French law does not allow a limitation to be set — gross negligence, wilful misconduct, and death or personal injury among them.
Applicable law, and which version governs
These terms are published in English and in French. Both versions are authoritative, and where they disagree, the French version prevails. They are governed by French law. The seller's identity — legal name, registration number, registered office — is in the legal notice, which carries the same placeholder banner as this page until Firmus is incorporated.
